Google defended its search engine’s artificial intelligence (AI) features amid growing concerns about their role in the global decline of website traffic. On Wednesday, the Mountain View-based tech giant said that third-party reports suggesting a drop in search traffic are «inaccurate» and based on «flawed methodologies.» It defended features such as AI Overviews and the recently added AI Mode by stating that these features ensure websites are receiving “more quality clicks.” In May (around the same time that AI Overviews rolled out), a popular business news publication reportedly fired 21 percent of its workforce due to extreme traffic drops.Google Says…

Google is expanding its new artificial intelligence (AI) search experience, AI Mode, to Android tablets, according to a report. The Mountain View-based tech giant is reportedly rolling out AI Mode to the larger display devices with the latest update to the Google app. Tablets typically tend to get new features later than smartphones and desktop interfaces due to size optimisation requirements. Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE is expected to launch in the near future, and the South Korean technology firm has accidentally listed the truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones on its website. In a listing for the TWS headset, which has since been removed, the company revealed its design, colour options and price. The earphones are shown in two colour options with a stem-style design. New faster Acela trains will begin revenue service on August 28 along the Northeast Corridor between Washington, New York and Boston, Amtrak announced on Thursday. “In just a few weeks, history will be made with the debut of NextGen Acela as we launch a new standard for American train travel,” said Amtrak President Roger Harris, in a statement. Apple and Corning announced an expansion of their partnership on Wednesday. The Cupertino-based tech giant will invest an additional $2.5 billion (roughly Rs. 21,900 crore) to make the cover glass for all iPhone and Apple Watch models at Corning’s Harrodsburg plant in Kentucky. OpenAI’s upcoming artificial intelligence (AI) model, GPT-5, has reportedly been leaked ahead of release. As per the report, the models were listed in a now-deleted GitHub blog post, along with certain details about them. The post reportedly mentions four variants, which include the previously reported GPT-5 base model, GPT-5 Mini, GPT-5 Nano, and a new GPT-5 Chat, which is said to be for enterprise usage. Samsung is updating its on-screen search experience to offer a more conversational and personalised experience to its smart TV users.
