The brewer claims the banned outdoor ad did not imply the Wingman beer had any “therapeutic or mood-altering effects”. A poster promoting BrewDog’s Wingman beer has been banned by the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) for implying alcohol is a remedy for “boredom, loneliness or other problems”.   The outdoor ad, which was seen in May 2025, included the tagline: ‘BrewDog. Always got your back’.  Referencing problems like WiFi failure, bad weather and a friend being late, BrewDog implied its beer could be an antidote, with text that said: “Wingman stands firm. In early August 2025, Rocket Lab successfully launched QPS-SAR-12 (nicknamed Kushinada-I), a synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) satellite built by Japan’s iQPS (Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space). This mission, called “The Harvest Goddess Thrives” in honor of a Japanese goddess of harvest and prosperity, was Rocket Lab’s fifth dedicated launch for iQPS. The 59-foot (18-meter) Electron rocket lifted the satellite into a 575-km circular orbit. QPS-SAR-12 will join an expanding constellation of SAR Earth-imaging satellites, enabling all-weather, day-and-night observation. The launch exemplifies Rocket Lab’s niche role in deploying small dedicated satellites and advances iQPS’s goal of a 36-satellite global SAR network. The…

Expedition 73 welcomed Crew-11 in an early morning port visit at 3:46 a.m. EDT when the hatches between the International Space Station (ISS) and SpaceX Dragon spacecraft were opened, allowing for Crew-11 to transfer over to join the team on board the orbiting laboratory. The event was also live-streamed on NASA+ but returned shortly after for the welcome ceremony. The event was also made available on the NASA App, on various NASA social media accounts, and online at NASA. The successful turnover of Crew-11 is another part of a sustained international partnership in low Earth orbit operations.Crew-11’s Seamless Arrival Highlights…

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has returned to Hubble’s Ultra Deep Field, capturing over 2,500 galaxies across cosmic history. It is part of JWST’s JADES survey, re-imaging the same patch in infrared. Webb’s infrared cameras (NIRCam and MIRI) see much fainter objects than Hubble. While Hubble’s UDF showed about 10,000 galaxies in visible light, Webb’s extremely deep (~100-hour) mid-infrared exposure now reveals galaxies formed just a few hundred million years after the Big Bang. About 80% of the galaxies in the Webb image are seen from that early era.Sharper, Deeper Infrared ImagingAccording to a study published in the journal…

Wuhan University’s astronomers made use of the insight-HXMT satellite for studying a large outburst that happened 3 years ago in the X-Ray binary RX J0440.9+4431. The findings were released on July 24, 2025 on arXiv, and offered a detailed observation of the system’s properties and the activity at the time of the event. X-Ray binaries are the pairs of the stars and shine brighter in X-Rays. In such a scenario, one star either white dwarf or the normal one, transfers the mass to the compact object, which can be a black hole or neutron star. XRB can be separated into…

After three weeks of calm, the Sun roared back to life on Aug. 3–4, 2025, unleashing three moderate M-class solar flares in just 24 hours. These midday flares – including a 2.9-M flare on Aug. 3 and two more (M2.0 and M1.4) on Aug. 4, all erupted from sunspot region AR 4168. While not as intense as the largest X-class events, M-class flares are still powerful bursts of radiation capable of briefly disturbing Earth’s upper atmosphere. Experts say we may see minor effects, such as short-lived radio blackouts or a brush of auroras at high latitudes.Solar Eruptions IgniteAccording to space weather…

Now there are two more options available for theoretical physicists mulling over the mystery of what dark matter is, and with them come another two pointers towards how to narrow down our search. UC Santa Cruz Professor of Physics Stefano Profumo published a paper examining whether dark matter was always there or instead could have come from a ‘mirror world’ or the edge of space ballooning along with the rest of the universe. Whatever its truth, it would produce dark matter that does not interact with ordinary particles and significantly modify our modern view of the cosmos.New Theories Suggest Dark…
