Earnings To Watch: Amplitude (AMPL) Reports Q4 Results Tomorrow

Data analytics software provider Amplitude (NASDAQ:AMPL) will be reporting earnings tomorrow after the bell. Here’s what you need to know.

Amplitude beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 1.5% last quarter, reporting revenues of $75.22 million, up 6.5% year on year. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with an impressive beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates but a significant miss of analysts’ billings estimates. It added 20 enterprise customers paying more than $100,000 annually to reach a total of 567.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Amplitude’s revenue to grow 7.3% year on year to $76.65 million, slowing from the 9.4% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.01 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Amplitude has only missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates once over the last two years, exceeding top-line expectations by 1.3% on average.

Looking at Amplitude’s peers in the data and analytics software segment, some have already reported their Q4 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Palantir delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 36%, beating analysts’ expectations by 6.8%, and Commvault Systems reported revenues up 21.1%, topping estimates by 6.9%. Palantir traded up 23.7% following the results while Commvault Systems was down 7.5%.

Amplitude is up 10.2% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $12.50 (compared to the current share price of $12.45).
