(Bloomberg) — Google parent Alphabet Inc. is in talks once again to buy the cybersecurity startup Wiz — this time, for around $30 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

A deal could come together soon, the Journal reported, citing unnamed sources. Alphabet and Wiz spokespeople didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

This would mark only the latest round of takeover talks between Alphabet and Wiz. In July, Wiz turned down a takeover bid of as much as $23 billion from the tech giant, deciding instead to stick with its plan for an initial public offering .The rejection was a blow to Google, which is trying to catch up with Microsoft Corp. and Amazon.com Inc. in an intensely competitive cloud services market.

Google, which bought cybersecurity firm Mandiant for $5.4 billion a few years in its second-largest acquisition, could use Wiz to round out its security offerings. The New York-based startup connects to cloud storage providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, and scans data stored there for security risks.
