1. Howden Re promotes head of fac for APAC

Howden Re has promoted company veteran Cynthia Cui to head of Asia Pacific facultative reinsurance.

In her new role within Howden Re International, Singapore-based Cui will drive the continued expansion of Howden Re’s cedent facultative business across APAC, working closely with the treaty team.

2. Munich Re Australasia promotes new CFO

Munich Re Australasia has promoted Diana Baer to chief financial officer, effective from July 1. She replaces David Field, who has become a member of the management board and CFO of Great Lakes Insurance.

3. Howden confirms MD, M&A head

Howden has hired Mandira Gupta (pictured) as managing director and M&A head for the IMEA (India, Middle East, Africa) team, confirming an exclusive report by InsuranceAsia News (IAN) in January. Mumbai-based Gupta will lead Howden’s focus on private equity and transactional risk insurance solutions.

4. AIG snaps up APAC cyber leader

Harprit Singh Narang has joined AIG as its regional leader for cyber in Asia Pacific. Singapore-based Narang was most recently a senior cyber risk consultant at Munich Re, also based in Singapore.

5. Sompo appoints APAC marine underwriter

Sompo has appointed Kathleen Chin (pictured) as a marine underwriter for Asia Pacific. Singapore-based Chin will report to Dave Ong, head of marine for APAC.

6. Allianz Commercial Australia names head of client engagement

Allianz Commercial Australia has also appointed Mark Sutton to the newly created post of head of client engagement. Since joining Allianz Australia in 2013, Sydney-based Sutton has held several roles within the organisation, including corporate distribution and client services manager and corporate underwriting distribution manager.

7. Howden Australia taps new head of surety

Howden Insurance Brokers Australia has appointed Tony Cengic (pictured) as its head of surety. Cengic will return to Melbourne from London to lead the development and expansion of the broker’s surety business, “bringing his extensive expertise to drive growth and innovation”.

8. Allianz Australia appoints national relationship manager

Allianz Australia’s commercial team has appointed Pamela Beilby as its national relationship manager. In her new role, Sydney-based Beilby will be responsible for developing and executing national strategic partnership plans across key broker segments within Allianz.
