1. Axa XL names Asia CEO
Axa XL has appointed Sylvie Gleises as regional CEO for Asia, effective from March 24, subject to regulatory approvals. Singapore-based Gleises replaces Gilles Fromageot, who joined Axa International Markets as CEO for Morocco and CIMA in February.

2. Lockton taps new regional head of specialties, names Pacific CEO
Lockton Asia has appointed Jay Sharma to the newly created role of regional head of specialties, effective from March 17. Sharma will relocate to Singapore from New York and report directly to Asia CEO Tony Hardy, having previously worked for Marsh, Aon, and WTW.
Lockton has also appointed Marsh’s Marcus Pearson as its new CEO for the Pacific region, covering Australia and New Zealand, replacing Paul Marsden. Brisbane-based Pearson had been chief commercial officer for Marsh McLennan Pacific and head of Marsh Speciality in the region.

3. Marsh reshuffles Taiwan leadership
Marsh McLennan has given Terence Hsu (pictured) the expanded role of Taiwan CEO, in addition to his current position as president of Mercer Taiwan. He is set to take over from Seth Peller, who was appointed as CEO of Marsh McLennan in Hong Kong and Macau earlier this year.
Arthur Lee has also been appointed as president of Marsh Taiwan, subject to regulatory filing. Lee has been with Marsh for almost 28 years, and most recently held the role of senior vice president.

4. Hannover Re shakes up Asia L&H leadership
Hannover Re has appointed Soeren Kruse as head of life and health (L&H) for southern and eastern Asia, while naming Niall Mulvey as head of L&H for greater China. Kuala Lumpur-based Kruse was most recently CEO of the reinsurer’s Malaysia branch, a role that has now been handed to James Ng, as reported by InsuranceAsia News. Before that, Kruse, who has been working at Hannover Re for almost 12 years, was the general manager of the branch.

5. Canopius expands role for APAC head of distribution
Global specialty and P&C (re)insurer Canopius Group has handed Paul Hackett (pictured) the expanded role of regional head of distribution for Asia Pacific, effective from March 1, 2025. The expanded role is in addition to his existing portfolio as head of marine for APAC and Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

6. A&H regional underwriter manager for Asia returns to AIG
Jacquelynn Chuc has returned to AIG as accident and health (A&H) regional underwriter manager for Asia. Before assuming her new role at AIG, Chuc worked for Chubb for more than 14 years, with over four years at their Australia branch and nine-and-a-half years in Singapore.

7. Allianz Commercial appoints new APAC ART head
Allianz Commercial has appointed Rosa Ficarra (pictured) as head of alternative risk transfer (ART) for Asia Pacific, effective March 1, 2025. Based in Singapore, Ficarra will be responsible for new and renewal ART business in Asia and Australia, including negotiation of participation, pricing, capacity utilisation, and portfolio management.

8. Gallagher India adds to ranks
Gallagher India has hired Bijukumar S. as national head of trade credit. Bengaluru-based Bijukumar is a seasoned sales leader with 23 years of experience across trade credit insurance, general insurance broking, banking, and life insurance.
Gallagher, meanwhile, also has appointed Arundas C K as an associate director for its insurance broking business in India.
